Isfahan province

 Isfahan province, equivalent to 57.6% of the total area of the country, is located in the central part of Iran. Isfahan province includes 20 cities.The cities of this province are:Aran and Bidgol, Ardestan, Isfahan, Barkhar and Mimeh, Buin and Miandasht, Tiran and Karon, Chadegan, Khomeinishahr, Khansar, Khor and Biyabank, Semiram, Shahreza, Dahaqan, Faridan, Feridunshahr, Flowerjan, Kashan, Golpaygan, Lanjan, Mobarakeh, Nayin,Najafabad andNatanz.

Isfahan city has a hot an dry climate.

Isfahan is known as the third largest metropolis of Iran after Tehran and Mashhad and is considered as one of the most important archaeological centers at the international level. It should be noted that many historical monuments in this city have been registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Historical Places

1_Naqsh Jahan Square, formerly known as Shah Square and then Imam Square, is the second largest open space in the world. In the past, it has been the venue for various ceremonies and polo matches.

 

2_Khajo Bridge, was built by order of Shah Abbas II. This bridge is known as Hassan Beyk. Shah Abbas II ordered the destruction of the old bridge, and after that, the new Khajo bridge was built. This bridge is 133 meters long and 12 meters wide and has 23 columns. Khajo Bridge was registered as one of the national works of Iran.

 

3_Isfahan’s Qaisarieh market is known as one of the oldest sightseeing spots in Isfahan.

This market is also known as “Bazar Soltani” and in the past it was considered as one of the largest commercial centers in Iran and the Middle East region.

 

4_ Ali Qapu Palace is a historical monument with a height of 48 meters. This building has six floors.

The structure of the sound room or music room and the plasterwork is such that the sound is spread acoustically without reflection throughout the palace, and it was a place for artists to play music .

Sheikh Lotfollah has twounique features that distinguish it from other mosques.First, unlike all other mosques, this mosque does not have a minaretSecond, Sheikh Lotfollah ShabestanMosque does not have an entrance or courtyard, and people enter the mosquedirectly through several steps.

 

7_Master Hossein Bana Esfahani, a prominent architect, was in charge of designing andimplementing this magnificent bridge. With a length of 295 meters and a widthof 14 meters, this bridge consists of 33 spans, which gave it the name”thirty-three bridges.
